First, I must confess that I am editing my original post.

Second, I think I finally figured out whom it is that Sam at this particular stage in his life most resembles. (I know, it's hard, those shapely legs are so damn distracting!) I first thought of Michael Landon, circa Highway to Heaven, or Jaclyn Smith in Charlie's Angels, but a Google image search revealed that neither of them ever sported a beard.
